Montclare was established around a simple principle: property owners deserve clear communication and a service designed around their circumstances rather than a standard sales process.
An address tells you where a property is. It does not tell you why its owner is considering a sale, how long the decision has been in mind or what depends on the outcome. Those details can change the conversation entirely.
For one owner, a sale may allow an onward move to proceed. For another, it may bring an inherited responsibility to a conclusion, simplify a portfolio or resolve uncertainty after a transaction has fallen through. Montclare is designed to give these circumstances proper attention from the outset.
Our starting point is a clear account of the owner’s position: the intention to sell, the priorities involved and the practical ability to move forward. Where an appropriate introduction may help, we consider the specialist property businesses available and remain a Montclare point of contact as the process develops.
The name describes how we intend the relationship to feel: personally known, carefully considered and handled with discretion. There should be a clear person to return to and a shared understanding of why the sale matters to you.
Montclare brings together an individual application review, a private consultation where appropriate and a potential introduction to a relevant specialist business. The service creates space to understand the owner’s circumstances before a route is proposed.
It also creates continuity after that introduction. You may need to understand who is responsible for a question, which information is still required or how a change in your position affects an earlier discussion. Remaining familiar with the context is an important part of the service.
Personal attention requires capacity. A consultation deserves preparation, an active relationship requires follow-through, and an owner should be able to return to a conversation without repeatedly explaining the circumstances from the beginning.
We therefore intend to maintain a deliberately limited Private Client book. Applications are considered against the needs of the individual owner, the potential relevance of our service and the capacity available. Not every application leads to a consultation, and not every consultation leads to an introduction.
This is also a question of fit. There should be a useful reason for Montclare to become involved. Where the timing is uncertain, an important question remains unresolved or an appropriate partner is unavailable, a different next step may be more suitable.
The most expensive property is not necessarily the one for which our service can make the greatest contribution. A committed owner, a realistic objective and a practical willingness to proceed tell us more about the potential for a useful relationship than value alone.
We consider motivation, timeframe, the position of all owners and the information available. A London flat, a family home, an inherited property or a portfolio can each warrant careful attention. The question is whether the circumstances and the available support are well matched.
We ask direct questions about readiness because they matter to the next step. There is room to explain uncertainty and to identify what needs to happen before a decision can be made. Clarity is more useful than an answer given simply to appear ready.
Discretion is reflected in ordinary decisions: which information is requested, who needs to receive it and whether the owner understands the purpose of an introduction. An application should not be treated as permission to circulate a person’s details widely.
Before a proposed referral, the recipient, the purpose of sharing information and the relevant arrangements should be explained, with any required permission addressed separately. We ask owners to share what is relevant to understanding the property and intended sale, and to indicate where information remains uncertain.
Personal attention also means respecting how you prefer to communicate. Contact preferences, availability and any agreed arrangements outside conventional office hours help establish a relationship that is practical for both sides.
Montclare is initially focused on London property owners. That includes owners considering a straightforward sale and those dealing with a less conventional asset or a more complicated set of circumstances. Our application helps establish the location, property type and potential fit before a consultation is offered.
Selected Private Clients may be invited to meet in person at an appropriate Central London business location. These meetings are arranged individually, following an initial private online consultation where a more detailed discussion would be useful.
A proposed specialist business should have a relevant role in the circumstances being discussed. Before an introduction, the owner should understand what that firm may provide, which questions remain to be answered and what terms would govern any appointment.
Montclare may receive an introduction fee or commission from a partner. Any material referral arrangement, and any charge proposed to an owner, must be explained before the relevant decision. The opportunity to understand those interests is part of a transparent service.
Montclare’s intended operating role is property origination and introduction, with personal contact around the process. We are not presented as the seller’s estate agent or as a property buyer. We do not provide formal valuations, negotiate transactions, hold client money or carry out conveyancing.
Partner firms provide their own transactional services under their own agreements. Legal, tax and financial advice belongs with the appropriately appointed professionals. Keeping these responsibilities clear allows our attention to stay focused on understanding the owner, considering an appropriate introduction and maintaining continuity of communication.
The Montclare Standard brings these expectations together. It is the basis on which we intend each Private Client relationship to be considered and maintained.
Good service is rarely about grand gestures. It is knowing who to call, being kept informed and feeling that your circumstances have been understood.
One accountable Montclare contact, familiar with your circumstances and the reasons behind your decisions. A person to return to as questions arise and the position develops.
Clear communication, agreed contact arrangements and proactive updates. Attention to what has changed, what remains outstanding and who is responsible for the next action.
A deliberately limited Private Client book, considered against the attention each relationship requires. Invitations reflect fit, readiness and the capacity to provide a useful service.
Relevant information requested with a clear purpose. Proposed recipients and sharing arrangements explained before an introduction, with any required permission addressed separately.
The owner’s priorities and the property’s circumstances shape the discussion. No assumption that every asset, timeframe or intended outcome should follow the same sale route.
Introductions to selected specialist property businesses where appropriate. A clear explanation of the proposed partner’s role, with its own terms and responsibilities distinguished from Montclare’s involvement.
Tell us about your property, the decision you are considering and what a successful sale would mean to you. We will review your circumstances individually and consider whether Montclare can offer a meaningful next step.
